Infrastructure Division

The Studies and Infrastructure Division includes the following services:

• Municipal Buildings Service
• Public Lighting Service
• Urban Development Service
• Project Studies Service

The duties of these services are as follows:

Municipal Buildings Service

This service handles all work relating to the construction of the Municipality of Kénitra’s administrative buildings, in accordance with the laws and regulations in force, in particular:

• monitoring and inspecting construction and fit-out sites for municipal buildings and preparing reports;
• checking compliance with the required conditions and specifications for any new municipal administrative building;
• taking legal action if a contractor breaches its obligations.

Public Lighting Service

This service handles all work relating to public lighting:

• extending and creating public lighting lines and traffic lights;
• monitoring electricity consumption and carrying out public lighting studies;
• providing technical oversight of work carried out under the delegated management of public lighting;
• preparing reports on inspected work;
• taking part in bid evaluation committees for public lighting contracts.

Urban Development Service

This service handles all work relating to roads within Kénitra’s urban area, in accordance with the laws and regulations in force, in particular:

• building and widening roads, pavements and public squares;
• installing road signs in coordination with the traffic service;
• monitoring municipal road and urban development projects;
• implementing municipal decisions on naming streets, squares and alleys, and numbering premises and homes in coordination with the administrative police service;
• preparing and drafting specifications;
• supervising and inspecting work assigned to private companies under public road and urban development contracts.
